Runner’s Club FAQs 2024-2025

WHAT IS RUNNER’S CLUB?

Runner’s Club is a voluntary club to encourage students to develop fitness patterns for life. This is a fun school wide activity open to ALL students!

WHEN IS RUNNER’S CLUB?

Runner’s Club will be held once a week on Tuesday DURING RECESS. Runner’s Club will begin on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 (weather permitting). The last day is Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

HOW DO STUDENTS JOIN RUNNER’S CLUB?

NO sign ups are required. Students simply need to go to the track on Tuesday during recess to participate.

HOW DO STUDENTS EARN A RUNNER’S CLUB MEDAL AND PARTY?

1) PARTICIPATION GOAL
Students MUST participate at least
17 times

There will be 24 opportunities to participate.

They may miss 7 sessions due to illness, field trips, bad weather, etc.

2) GRADE LEVEL LAP GOAL
Each grade level has a target lap goal that must be reached:

  • Kindergarten 50 Laps

  • First Grade 60 Laps

  • Second Grade 70 Laps

  • Third Grade 80 Laps

  • Fourth Grade 90 Laps

  • Fifth Grade 100 Laps

  • Sixth Grade 110 Laps

3) HOW TO RECEIVE A MEDAL:

  • Those who have met both the participation goal and the lap goal will receive a medal.

  • The girl and boy with the most laps in their grade will receive an additional, different medal.

  • The girl and boy who have the most laps in the entire school will each receive a trophy.

HOW WILL MY STUDENT KNOW IF THEY ARE CLOSE TO REACHING THEIR GOALS?

  • Students can check the “Runner’s Club” wall near the MPR to see their weekly totals.

  • Parents can also check their student’s progress anytime on the Runner’s Club website by clicking on the “Lap Form” button at the bottom of this page. Fill out the short form and you will receive an email to sign up to the Lap Tracking site within 24-48 hours.

No need to fill out the form if you did so in the past. Here is that website if you already have a log in and password: https://www.laptracker.net

END OF YEAR CEREMONY:

There will be a school wide ceremony in April to celebrate and congratulate those students who have met both goals – Participating at least 17 times AND reaching or exceeding their grade level lap goal.

WHAT ABOUT STUDENTS WHO DO NOT MEET THE GOALS?

They can try again next year for a medal and party! This is designed to be a fun event to get outside and exercise. The medal and party is just a bonus for those that were the most dedicated throughout the year.
